so trying to find help on this and the computer monkeys at steam are no help maybe here would be better.

so after the last couple updates i cant play csgo for more than a map or 2.
i will run 60-90 fps 25ping 0 loss 0 choke and all of a sudden i get 10 fps 700ping 50loss 75choke
so then i change all my settings to medium and still same things happen

nothing has changed on my system except steam and csgo updating so then i updated all my video drivers and still not good. am i missing something or is there a server setting my system doesnt like?

Loss = losing packets = your ISP/service is fuckin up. From my experience, this could mean one of two things:
- Your ISP/service is too slow/having problems
- Routing has been changed somewhere along the lines, and the end result if your loss of packets

Suggestion
Run a tracert to our server's ip and take a screenshot and post here.

1 ) Open a command prompt (or just hold Windows Key and press R -> type
Code:
cmd
and hit enter)
2 ) Type
Code:
tracert 208.68.90.170
and hit enter
3 ) Copy and paste the results here
4 ) We should be seeing one of the hops that's fucking with you. Addressing the problem will be another issue, though...

Have you tried updating your drivers [windows updates and your vcard drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer, dont use windows updates for your video drivers if you can avoid it]

Ever since the big update a little while ago, i've also noticed an increase in lag and decrease in playability[low fps/high choke]
Some maps which used to be perfectly playable are now laggy as well.

Guys, please don't get confused.

1 ) Choke/Loss = Network
2 ) Fps = Graphical Loss
3 ) Lag = Could be graphical lag (low fps on certain environments/events (i.e. screen tears, horizontal shifting etc.); Could be lag generated from network causes (i.e. minute 'timeouts' where your guy seems stuck) and if this is true, refer back to choke/loss.

Now with options 1 and 2, you have something called interpolation.
Code:
cl_interp
and
Code:
cl_interp_ratio
in your config, accessible via console as well (these values can only be manipulated while either in spectator or out of game. They cannot be manipulated while playing.

cl_interp - The amount of interpolation. This is typically set as low as possible without seeing anything in your net_graph stutter down to yellow text, also without generating any choke/loss.

cl_interp_ratio - The multiplcation factor (valued at 1 or 2) or cl_interp. Example: Default cl_interp_ratio = 2. If cl_interp = 1, total interpolation will be 2.

Just as an example, I've got my ratio set at 1, and interp value at 0.04 (a 4ms interpolation; as little as my network connection will allow before losing information to/from the server).

My point: Changing graphical drivers will only help in certain situations. Depending on what you are experiencing, this may or may not be relevant.

BJ, if you have the time you should do another post regarding reats and settings, but for GO, and keeping in mind that some of our parameters are locked in by the server.

I'll write one up, I just hope no one deletes it again :( My last one was pretty extensive.

The server shouldn't have any value locked but rather have limits (a min and max). This is good because it prevents assholes from using whacked out rates, on purpose, to gain an advantage.

I'll see if I can write one up tonight.

i guess with all the active updating steam does gotta start messing around with my settings but i have a feeling its not the server but the game itself sine i played it perfect since it came out until all these updates came out :(

so with the video drivers i never use windows update went to nvidia site but think i have everything set to high then set everything to medium and the same issue happens seems to be rogers but its a 50/3mb connection and yes i shut down my porn downloads when playing lol

well i messed with the interp it was set to 2 and .03125 changed it to 1 and .015

as for the trace the port doesnt matter lol plus it wont recognize it as a valid ip

At this point, I'd check your router and/or mode. I'd give them both nice power cycles, if not resets (be careful as a "reset" will erase all settings/security on your router).

It's definitely a net issue.
