Joining problems under high loads

Usually when the TD server is around 28/32 or more I have trouble joining.

I connect to the server just fine, pick a side, get booted and return to the CSGO homepage.

I tested other servers, I connected just fine. I did a few restarts, and the same problem happened. I know we were having this trouble before but it seems to have come back.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I wonder if that was happening to me and you said the server is up to date. When i asked for a restart. Steam restart maybe

What Freak said. I think I understand what it is.

The game browser seems to report different player counts than the "Server Info" view (when you have that little box pop up and you can click autojoin).

So the browser will temporarily show 31/32 while the Server Info popup shows 32/32. But because the browser allows you to join, you get kicked because in reality it's fully populated.

Hmm, I think I just saw this happen to a guy named Thrillhouse. He connected, joins T, then disconnect.
Happen to me lots of time, I think the "Empty" spot gets bugged and CSGO think there's a free spot, so it let you join in the server, but when you try to join team, it kicks you right out because there's actually no more spot. IDK~:shrug:

But I always join at 31/32, cause that's the last spot where everyone get booted, and I know the trick to it. :awyeah:

That likely means it's the reserved slot, then, noticed that was running on the server awhile back. @Shotgun Jesus, is there supposed to be a reserved slot? When was SourceMod last updated?

There is not supposed to be a reserved. I last updated SM when 1.6 was officially released. TD is on SourceMod 1.6.1-dev+4547.

The reserved slots plugin was running; didn't see any settings that would suggest it was causing any problems, but I stopped and removed it anyway. Also noticed that sv_maxplayers is set to 32, which will make the server always tell the server browser that it can support 32 players, regardless of what's actually enforced. So if the map only supports a certain number of players or if some setting restricts it, the server will still say it supports 32.

I'm pretty sure running -maxplayers_override as a launch parameter for CSGO forces the actual player count supported regardless of the map; do you have that set?
