I've kept thinking about this. How many jumps/moves on your portfolio? Honestly, if you don't have any qualifications, employers then look to "softer" skills.

Ability to deal with tough people, reliability, loyalty to a company. Honestly, I'd stick it out, nothing looks worse on your resume than a shit load of 4 months jobs. If it were one or two, thats understandable, but 4-5, and its you.

yea, well dealing with tough people is the first thing anyone thinks of when i tell them what i do so that's not a problem, also i've been with the company for a decent while now. i was thinking that maybe it's time to update my image within the company and always be on time and doing more than is required for a few months to prove i'm worthy of promotion.

im planning on going back to school next year on a big osap loan so i want to earn as much money as i can before then and invest it in something that will ease the debt load i'm gonna be hit with when i graduate. not stocks or risky shit just something stable and tax-protected.

looked into that TCC thing but my friend's dad works there and it's really more of a long-term career, same thing with electrician. i'm just looking to make as much money as possible in the shortest time frame because i have bigger goals.

good ideas, thanks guys

Electrician is an awesome career to get into, there is always work no matter where you go. Everybody needs electricity. It is never to late to get into a trade.

im thinking of going to japan but they apparently won't let me in without some kind of university degree so trades are out of the question for the time being

Yup. Or proof of 10 years of job experience in a trade they're in need of in some cases. Typically though, that only works with computer related matters.

if you have any inkling for electrical I would recommend it. I just got my ticket and I will say if you can put in the time it is SO worth it. but any red seal trade will get you in to the same boat. but if u wanna make the cash u have to go union. you start around 12-15 bucks an hour for 1st year apprentice and when you are done 5 years you are up to 34-40 bucks an hour depending on the local you work out of plus benefits/pension/vacation pay etc.

i'm getting sick of my job and if i don't get promoted in the next few months i want to start looking for a new one, just wondering if yall have any inspiring ideas on what kind of employers i should look toward for getting more than $15 an hour stable 40 hour weeks and i have no qualifications but i've been working for a while in errr finance related problem solving shit.

frankly, i would be happy as piss even to work in a factory if the starting wage were fifteen bones an hour.

no dick or AIDS related options will be considered.

Figure out what you love - do it [its that simple, and that difficult @ the same time :: College is a great place to get started on this sort of path if it's an option for you (I'm 26 now and just finishing up my Undergrad)] :: There are of course other options such as factory worker or y'know, working something like construction - I'm not sure how you get these jobs though, other than finding them.

Go to school for business.
Everything revolves around business.
Sure employment

the truth for real, this has been in my mind lately, specially cuz i work in a business atmosphere and my company would actually help pay for school if i do some business related shit.

that just ain't my thing, i want to write for a living or build engines cuz that is the shit i'm passionate about not counting beans and seconds.

I have heard this time and time again from very mature/older people whether they are succesful or not.

Do what your passionate about, be consistent and the money will come.

Too many people get stuck in this whirlpool of job jumping and yet although make money to pay bills, constantly bitch and complain and will probably get old and have many regrets....
