Is it worth it

Ive been wondering if the game is worth it. some of my friends play it but i never really know what they are doing while they are playing can someone tell me what the game is ab out and if it is worth buying?

also is it true that Korea has 2 dedicated TV channels to the game?

a lot of our members were pretty heavy into SC2 a while back, some still are. I will say that you have to dedicate a lot of time to losing before you will get any good, especially being new to the game.
If you do plan on getting into this series I suggest getting familiar with the game now because there is an expansion coming out soon and people will be playing like crazy when it drops.

ya Star craft games in korea are on TV (honestly dont know if it is a dedicated TV channel).
I am not sure if I would buy the game if I knew how much time I needed to put into it to get any good. with all the information and streams out for the game the competitiveness is very annoying and unlike other pvp games that i enjoy (CS, mario kart, BF2) there is almost no chance to beat someone better than you. That said I enjoy the game. R.U.S.E. is also a fun RTS to look at.

go to http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/ and watch a castes game or 2 see if want to try to understand the game.

and with the expansion coming out i bet the game will be going back on sale at some point. but no idea when...... or if....

If you have $30 I will sell you my game, I do not play it very often.

I was contemplating picking this up as well. I play alot of Company of Heroes, but this looks like a completely different style of RTS...

I +1 everything Chris said, it's a frustrating game sometimes.

^This is coming from a guy who played WoW.... Think about that for a moment... But srsly it's nothing like SC1.

If you're into RTS do yourself a favor and buy it. Even if you're awful like me, there's a lot of other baddies too. Be warned, you can really get sucked into it all though..once you understand what's going on and can appreciate the technicality of the moves by some of the pros your mind will be blown. Not to mention the fact that there are barcrafts all over Ontario for GSL and MLG events and the fact that the majority of universities and colleges have their own CSL teams that regularly practice, run LANs, etc. All of the frustration is part of what makes the game as epic as it is and it's incredibly rewarding when you eventually push your limits and pull off moves you were never able to do successfully in the past.
