Apparently you dont HAVE to download it. I did and well, my phones signal and shit has been pretty weak ever since. I dunno if its the carrier update or the new iOS but its sluggish.

Are you experiencing the same thing?

I have iPhone 3G 8GB. I haven't left iOS 3.1.2 because it's jailbroken. I don't wanna upgrade and have nothing. There's probably hax out there, but nothing solid as I've seen, so I'm staying.

I haven't got any carrier update, and I will never update it - I get bomb reception.

Wireless Carrier updates only work for iOS 4 and it's information that is pushed from the carrier themselves. So it's NOT anything to do with Apple.

I've had no issues with my 3GS on iOS4.

See the thing is, i didnt have an signal problems with it before i switched to iOS 4 and dl'd the carrier updates. I dont know which of the 2 would be causing this...

I've had that model since it came out, never done this to me.
I've only ever seen this happen to people who don't charge their iPhone enough, and even then it's a simple fix.
