so... I am just going to say it because no one else is...
ANDROID!
I have the HTC Evo Shift and love it. Full slide out QWERTY Keyboard, Multitouch Display, 4G - Fast as hell! And does pretty much anything you would ever need it to do!
And it is open development, one of my favoritest features xD

clark, I wasn't interested in Android because in my initial post I said it was still (IMO) unstable-ish. I've had an iPhone before and I have BB right now and problems with neither which is why I was only considering these two. Maybe 2-3 years down the road I'll give Android a shot, but not right now.

Nokia.

I picked up an e73 from mobilicity a month ago, and it does everything i need for $25/mth.

Plus, I'll forever be sold on Nokia since I ran over my old one with my car and it still worked.

I'm sure if I ran over your Nokia with my car, my car would still work too. You know why Nokia's are so cheap? Nokia's bankrupt.

EDIT: @Leroy I got the Asian discounts. I pulled out the "you lo gib me cheep cheep I go Bell!"

I tried the same thing, the fuckers were relentless, I got the $35 hardware administration feel removed, but they still wanted to charge me $170 for a "free" upgrade, which what was negotiated as per my contract.

fucking. assholes.

So then, I was like, fuck it, I've been a rogers customer for the past 7 years, I'm done, my last contract has expired. The guys say, nuh-uh, you resigned in march.. I'm like boolshit I did, but apparently, when I went in to the brick and mortar to change around my services, the fucking tech asked me to sign this form, which was, guess what, a re-extension of my original contract. Oh, and he made sure not to tell me this.

fucking thieves.

Don't hate narf, he's japanese, and we all know what you meant, and I'll paraphrase and re-order, you were run over, AND your phone continued to work. So its kinda like a net zero sum.

I getcha, Leroy's got your back.

*sigh* I may need to insert [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags as it's clear you're the one having trouble comprehending, but then again, you don't know me as well as the others here.

In any case, Nokia's stock prices have been falling. There's been talks about bankruptcy for a couple of years now and it won't be long until happens. The report you linked is misleading, but what's worth noting is the drop in market share over the last year. The only reason why they're up there was because of their past achievements with their phones, but from where it stands right now, unless something big comes out for them, I predict they'll be virtually non-existent withing the next 5 years. At the moment, I dare say the top 3 most popular phone types/brands are: iPhone, Blackberry, and Android. Nokia does not have anything that can compete with any of those (although they did attempt to make a few phones with a QWERTY keyboard).

If you're so keen on them and still base your knowledge of Nokia around that link you posted, why don't you go and buy 200 shares of NOK? I know I wouldn't.

Meh I got the Nokia e73 paid $150 outright for the phone and Mobilicity's $25/month plan for life. unlimited local calling, call id, unlimited text, unlimited data including tethering.

Nokia's Symbian OS is the reason for their downfall, works for me just fine though, I found the apps I want (skype, putty, opera) and the battery life is I believe the biggest one available in a smart phone.

They do brades. They do. But it's not a something that will keep them afloat. Their time is near, and to me, they're as good as goners in this wireless device market. Chances are when you're phone breaks or when your contract term is up, you'll be going for an iPhone or a Berry (if they're still around, LOL) or an Android. They will have a few return customers, sure, but it won't generate enough revenue that makes their owners/investors happy.

EDIT: I will add that they still have one more chance at salvation. If Microsofts mobile OS turns out ok and welcomed, it might be Nokia's comeback, but otherwise...X_x

Its a little known fact, but its been statistically proven you are more likely to be run over by a car if you have a nokia phone in your possession.

One of life's little cawinky-dinks

Narfie: Apologies. Text-only isn't the greatest form of sarcasm transmittance.

All I'm getting that is the e73 is essentially a blackberry curve without BBM for half the price.
I personally don't even care much about cell phones - after the aforementioned nokia, I had a motorola krzr that I found and put my SIM card in, and used it for three years until it stopped working properly, which is when I got this one.

I probably wouldn't buy the stock right now (as they are in a state of flux), but I think they are worth watching when they release the windows-based phones. If their windows phones are even halfway-decent, that combined with their generally high build quality may boost their future stock price.
