In need of some ideas

Besides being an ugly case, no problems on that end. The HAF932 is discontinued anyway and is probably harder to find now.

Whether its Antec or Thermaltake, in the end its just a case. The case should do everything you need so long as it meets the size requirements of the parts you throw in. As to the fans n shit that come with the case, well ya it could break down but case fans are cheap as fuck nowadays and they are all made in some Chinese factory so whether its branded by CM or Antec or TT, no fuckin difference. You have just a likely a chance of one brand's fan breaking down as any other IMO.

The Zalman CPU HSF looks pretty pussy to me lol. No clue how well it works but if reviews are decent....I personally bought a $25 Coolermaster that looks 3x bigger than the Zalman, not sure if it provides 3x more cooling but there was like a 10-15C temp drop after installing mine.

:motherofgod: AMD :feelscry: Not a personal fan of em...but I have heard good things and multiple TD members have had great success with em.

Yeah, I honestly feel that all the things I've chosen will suit me personally.
I've got by for a year with what I've had so far...so I don't feel like I need a drastic change with much.
I just wanted to upgrade a few things :D

Ya, i think you did a great job picking and choosing. That processor is beast and those cases are gonna be nice. I'm not sure as far as fan speed cock said that its hard to compare cooling. Let me just say I've personally installed the coolermaster that i mentioned earlier and it works AMAZING. My friend's comp is heavily overclocked and it keeps his processor running at like 35 degrees, which is MORE than optimal settings. Just make sure you have space in the case, because as previously mentioned.... its massive. You need some of that grey stuff too, but it should come with the cooler. Its the stuff that sticks the processor to the middle of the copper piping.

Anyways, I think you made some smart choices :D. Glad we could help.

Yep! Everyone was a big help.
I will be ordering it all soon but not right now.
Gonna gain a bit more money before I make a big spend like this :P

Update:
I bought the SATA cable for the CD Drive ahead of time, it actually arrived really fast.
So I just tested out my uncles old CD Drive and it works perfectly fine.

Saving money on CD Drive = Buying better fan.
So I figured I would get the same as Cock, it doesn't seem as big as I thought it was after seeing his picture on the post your computer thread.

New list:
From Amazon
Case - Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 = £103.41
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 965 = £72.11
From Eclipsecomputers
CPU Fan - Zalman CNPS9900 = £41.94
PSU - OCZ 700Watt ModXStream = £66.90
Again...Unless anyone has ideas for any other power units? I'm still open to suggestions on a PSU.

Total Cost = £284.36

You don't need a new power source. You said you have a 500 right?
Yeah but it's pretty cheap...
And I kind of want a Modular one, better cable management..

I'm not sure though tbh :P

You think it will be all right with my cheapo 500W?

You can tell cheap shit PSU's from weight, I shit you not. Shitty PSU's will be under 5 lbs.
A heavy PSU doesn't always equal good but a light one always equals shit.

There is another OCZ 500w that was cheaper on that site.

Huh, I never knew that before...Interesting information.

There is another OCZ 500w that was cheaper on that site.
Yeah I see it.
It's basically the same as the 700W, just 200W less.

While I do have a moderate knowledge of PCs...how much power you need for your build isn't really my strong point.
I'm just guessing here when I say that my PC probably doesn't go anywhere above 400W? Or am I completely off?

I honestly don't mind going £15 more expensive, seeing as 200W extra is pretty good for that price.
Plus it will give me room for expansion with better Graphics later on, without having to swap out my PSU.

You're correct on the 400w
Yes usually better to buy a bigger one now and save later.
Ah good, I wasn't sure whether I was close or not.
Right, well I think my list is pretty set then.

Gonna order pretty soonish :D
I just watched a review video on the case, and it's just made me want it even more.

Honestly, I have a good heavy Power Supply, but unless your computer is turning off while you're adding stress, you don't need a power supply.... I do a lot of car audio stuff and it's the same thing. He's right, cheap power supplys (amps) are no good, but, if you only have a tiny sub attached to a massive but cheap amp, you're not going to need anything new until you start adding stress. You don't need a new power supply :(

Just saying =P

I can't even fathom why you think Subwoofers and Speakers are even close to a Computer.
Even the basic type of technology
Analog(Speakers) vs Digital(Computer)
They are just not comparable on any level.

This really isn't so much for Chuu as it is for anyone lurking who reads this.

I was referring to the princple. Disregard quality for second... because on that front I understand your confusion. My point is, if you aren't adding any stress to the power supply(in both scenarios) there is no need upgrade. The princple for Analog(speakers) is that if you don't have enough power it doesn't operate properly(in this case you get instant distortion or clipping etc).... With Digital(Computer), if you don't have enough power, your computer is going to stop functioning/not function at all... I had a bad power supply on my first computer setup and some times it would just shut off lol... So on the basis of my point was that if everything is going to be working properly why upgrade.

Anywaysssssssssss.... If you're really afraid that your PSU is going to fail and usually when bad one's fail, they take other components with them... then get a new PSU =P...

Also, for the record, in this day and age there are a lot of digital subwoofer amps... Just sayin

Sorry for being confusing.
