Yea this is wild. Giguere still has to waive his no trade clause though. I am glad the leafs are dumping all these scrubs.

I posted that he'll come to T.O. because I knew he'd waive it. ANA just signed Hiller to a 4 year contract -- if he stays in ANA then he'll just be back-up. Plus, I'm sure Burke played the friendship card or something to lure him over.

As a bonus, we got rid of Blake too!

not sure what we gave up in the first trade was good. second trade was decent. but hagman and white.....whites been out best Dman this year and hagman is definitely a top6 forward.

not sure what to think. wait and see how they work together on the ice.

The main reason why I like this trade is because they have a few franchise corner stones now (Sweet Canadian players at that). It is easier to replace the players they gave up than someone like Phaneuf or Giguere. I don't think they will salvage this season, but next season is looking up.

Phanuef isnt having a good season and Giguere was just replaced by a better younger goalie...which we have in the monster.....not sad to see tosk and blake go but meh

Yea agreed Phaneuf is having a bad year, but he is having disagreements and such with the coach. He isn't seeing many opportunities. Hopefully when he becomes the go-to guy again, he returns to form. Yea Giguere is getting old but he's still got game, if anything he can split time / mentor the monster until gust is ready to take the reins.

Thank god Toskala is gone, that was a good trade...

but I don't know about the Phaneuf trade... White was the shit, I guarantee he's gonna rip it up in Calgary... they gave away too much for him... but meh, should be interesting...
