Description: Bruculli approached Super Gear, asking if they could trust him (Super Gear). As a test, Bruculli asked Super Gear to give a bud to Super Gear's friend Wolf. At this point, a fake "Wolf" was inserted and traded for the bud. Later, Bruculli asked for Super Gear to trade "Wolf" the rest of his keys. At this point, Super Gear went to talk to the real Wolf and immediately noticed that there were two of them on his Friends list, and realized he'd been scammed. He asked for the bud back in Trade Chat, but at that point, they removed him. No screenshot of this request for the bud back, unfortunately.

This did not take place on the server. Super Gear and the real Wolf were on 2 when this happened, but the scammers were not.

Yes, my apologies about the missing block.

Super Gear is a nice guy and just dropped the ball here. He knows what he needs to do to prevent this from happening again. He's unfamiliar with SteamRep processes (as far as I know), which is why I made the report here.

You read it correctly though. The banned account was already tagged, and I'll be sure to tell Super Gear to be much more careful (though with a loss such as this, I doubt he'll need a reminder). The account got an alt/co-scammer to impersonate the friend and, well, the rest is history.

If he has anything he would like to say, he is welcome to come post on here. I am sorry to hear about the loss...but honestly, I do not know why users would ever engage in giving things out like this. Online especially where it is so dangerous. If one needs to view an item so badly, they can do so by Inspecting it In-Game, where as they can see it on the user. (Since TF2 does not have the Inspect In-Game such as CS:GO.)

You are correct, I am surprised that someone like him is still making Alts to harm our players...

Taken care of, offenses have been updated, tags updated, new alternative account detected (Not the one reported here) and also banned by us.
