this server has gone to hell and back

average pings of 50-60 across the board are a common sight nowdays

i cant even remember when i would get ping of less than 15

considering when you guys first got this server i was pinging at 3/ms

so whats going on, are the providers doing the old switcheroo on you guys?

I have gotten as close to that experience as i can..

lately i have actually had to supplement for lag, which is gay, slows you down considerably.

My ping is and has always been 40-60 on this isp. Same as usual.

I know what he is making reference to. It seems to eb true about the ISP. When we first got this server, my ping was 5-10 and i did hit 3ms a few times. A couple weeks later, it jump to an avg of 15. At some times in the day, i go as low as 8 and rarely 5. This i am assuming is the ISP and maybe chnages to their routing or something.
But as of lately, on the odd occasion we get short term lag spikes, where my ping will be 40-50 for a good minute or two and it goes back down to normal. I think this is ISP related as well.
The box runs great, there are no problems there.

No clue. But in general, they are a great host. We gotta work with what we have buddy!

<75 ping and it is completely playable

no other isp will have the type of service we want.

when i was on teksavvy and bitched i was getting 50ms ping compared to the usual 5ms, they more or less told me to go fuck myself...

im with rogers now and i have noticed they are all about traffic shaping, tampering with the connection etc, i would look at those guys first for the cause of inconsistent connections.

Edit: either way, for the amount of servers/plugins, regular traffic (# of players) etc our shit runs SOLID.

Try doing a tracert to the servers IP and see if you have any dead/slow hops. Maybe you can tell your ISP or something. I know that our previous host had us do something like this for whatever reason.
