I'm not new, but i figured i would let Darkly know that i am back and why i was gone.
I was in a 65mph car accident with no airbag deployment. I had a major concussion which took 7 months to recover from. In addition to the concussion, my left eye had to be retrained to focus on whatever i was looking it. I didn't look retarded and it didn't go lazy, i would just.. not be able to see certain things that were in my center field of vision. That has been taken care of.
I say the recovery was 7 months. I should say that i returned to work after 7 months. The recovery took a lot longer. I still struggled with car rides, elevators and anything that messed with my equilibrium for quite a while after. To this day, looking up with just my eyes makes me nauseated enough to vomit.
After the head trauma was resolved, i noticed i was having back pain. I tried to deal with it and just let it go. I tried just making sure i was at work everyday. But after months and months of taking a handful of Vicodin and muscle relaxers a day (which i still have to do), i got it checked out. I have a torn disc and a partially pinched nerve. I have been getting therapy on it for about a month now. Therapist said it will take a solid year before i feel strongly satisfied with the process. I also have an appointment with a neurosurgeon this Friday to discuss surgery.
So, this has been my life for the past year and a half or so. I can say with certainty that i am happy to be back in Darkly if you guys will have me.
