Help this bum get a new job :D

What? A new job? Why would Mandy be looking for a job since she already works at EMI Music Publications here in our beloved Toronto city? Why would she even dream about leaving such a fantastic opportunity?
Yeah, well as many of you may or may not know (or even care), EMI is going under. Rumors are flying around saying that it's as soon as November, if not sooner. Rumors are also flying around saying that it's Universal that bought us out and we're onto bigger and better things. BUT REGARDLESS! I don't play a big role which results in me being one of the first to go.
I just wanted to make a post here, there, everywhere I can think of, as well as applying to places directly (side note for DatGuy -- I'm not on good terms with Ubisoft as of right now :)...), so that I can find a job related in the audio engineering field.
That being said, these past few weeks I've been working with a lot of film-related audio tasks which have bled into sparking my interest in sound design for games. I mean, really, it was just a matter of time before I put the two together; writing music AND video games? Holy. Fuck. *mind explosion*
So I'm just leaving a friendly request to anyone who might be able to help me out either through a friend or just by word of mouth.

PS I'm broke & enjoy this fucked up GIF:

I would highly suggest checking out the U of T campus and using their job center. Most colleges and universities have their job services open to the public as long as you pass some screening and maybe some paperwork. They have great resources and can more often than not place you into some nice avenues of work.

I mostly do music composition. I'm pretty versatile in that sense because of my musical background. I've studied classical, jazz, worked in the rock industry and now (as my personal hobby) produce a lot of electronic music. I'm fluent with Pro Tools, handy with Logic and can tickle Ableton Live in a pretty decent manner.
Aside from music, I'm also comfortable with sound effects and ADR.

Not sure what else to mention. Anything you want to ask me?

Mandy, what about your career as a musician? I thought you got signed n shit. Tours, coke, glamor and all that jazz.

I'm not giving it up. It doesn't happen over night just because a label picked me up. Things are still being negotiated because they pretty much want to own all my rights.... and if they don't get it through their heads that it isn't going happen, I'm walking. But even if I do sign, I won't become a millionaire over night. They're funding me and pushing me to media outlets through connections. I still have to work at it.

That being said, while this is going on, I want to have some kind of steady income. I do need to pay rent y'know... And I love composing.

iac - thanks but I've already invested my whole life into music. I wouldn't be doing this if I wasn't already aware that there is no money in the industry. I work in it and have been engulfed in it for 12 years. Which, by the way, saying there is no money in the business is complete bull shit. Maybe as a performer who thinks they'll become a star over night without putting in any effort to promote themselves.
This business is like any other business. Go after it until the end, or don't even bother trying. I'm never going to stop.
