start going to bed at 9:30pm and get up at 5 am everyday.

does that sound like a good idea?

also for real no booze before bed? whenever i have a beer in the afternoon i fuckin pass out or almost pass out a couple hours later, but i drink a beer at night, i also get problems sleeping, wtf, also try fapping more (5-6 times in a row), that may help you get to sleep too.

Whatever works for you, Mike... Everyone is different, my friend... everyone. In the case of addiction, no one will know what it's truly like until they, themselves, are addicted to something. And who knows, I'm pretty sure being addicted to one thing could quite possibly be much more different than being addicted to another thing...

S@lv_dor I fail to see how i was wrong. You never talked about Pot once. Or Addiction vs Physical withdrawal so i fail to see why you quoted me.

And all seriousness aside Omission was joking about this thread, and i figured i would joke some more.

Pot is a harmless drug if it's casual, and like everything it needs to be moderated.

sorry, i forgot to address that directly. as i touched upon, severe alcoholism requires benzos (aka hospitalization) to stop withdrawals. it's a physical effect. this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delirium_tremens) provides great information on chemical dependence on alcohol and it's impact on the GABA receptors that can lead to dangerous withdrawal symptoms.

cannabis withdrawals don't need to be blunted (oddly enough, no pun intended.) the worst thing stopping weed after dependence is not being able to sleep because the body forgets how to self-regulate melatonin. all that really means is you go one or two sleepless nights and then you're technically fine. it fucks with your head though, for the lonnnnngest time afterwards you really really want to get high! the mental dependency is different from person to person so there's no way to say how it acts for certain but there is a lot of information on the web from addicts and ex addicts about the psychological toll quitting takes.

as a final note, i hope Omission wasn't joking about this thread. if you guys are consuming even half of what you talk of consuming on the mic during play then it's something to be concerned about. daily drinking in general is shit to be concerned about. my old man was a daily drinker for most of his adulthood and he's paying the price for it now with his degrading mental health.

my alcoholic buddy that i mentioned, well, he has other fucked up troubles from alcohol abuse and he's not even 25 yet. and being a citizen of a country that's consistently in the top 10 of every global most-booze-consumed-per-capita study, i'm confronted with how damaging the firewater can be. i don't think too far into the future either, but in the off chance that i live till im 60+ and have a family worth staying alive for i don't want to regret fucking up my body and mind with alcohol. food for thought
