HeadSet

I use a Turtle Beach X12... It's an inexpensive headset, but I've had them for about 2 years now and had no problems. The cable is quite long and there is a volume and mute control on the cable as well.

I have a Creative Fatality MKII head set and it's been great. I think it was around $60 and the sound is fantastic, mic works great and is detachable if you are travelling with it. Pretty comfortable even after several hours of use. Super long cord with volume and mute control on the cord as well. If you don't want to break the bank I would recommend picking this, or a similar headset up. (Got it at Canada Computers, two years old)

If you want one to play games as well as listen to music with... Turtle Beach P11. Always go with Turtle Beach if you want heavy bass.
I have the SteelSeries Frost Blue v2 rn.

Heh, I use these...
Quite uncomfortable after long use.
I find that my ears start to ache after a while, but other than that they're fine when used with short breaks in between games.

I read ya there, I'm use to wearing shitty headsets for long periods of time at work, so I feel like every set of headphones hurt after an hour or two :)
