GTA Internets

Well boys,

In a week I will be moving back into the GTA. Back into the Rogers/Bell shitfarm of internet tomfuckery. Shaw has been insanely awesome for the two years I have had it, and I will be looking to get a decent internet plan hooked up when I get back.

I checked out Bell's packages, needless to say they look like overpriced shit.

So I went to Rogers, and they have better packages, and I am thinking of getting the 10/1MBps package because of the 95GB bandwidth.

For those of you on Rogers, how is their service? At least they now come out and say they throttle P2P to 80kbps now, unlike 2 years ago when both Bell and Rogers said "We only throttle when necessary" which was pure malarky.

I have never had Rogers, so I am looking for some feedback from those with experience. Any other suggestions? Serious feedback is appreciated, trollz plz gtfo.

Let's create TD internetz and have cheap prices. We can then buy the CN tower and call it TD tower.

hmm... Thats what I am looking at.. Whats the probz with it? Looks like I am going to be missing my 1.5MB/s Dl's

If it matters, i have rogers extreme (i think) and i share the internet with 4 other people with me using it wireless. Ive seen various download speeds go up to 1mb+.

Hmm.. I am feeling better about this. Am I missing any good providers? I guess it doesn't matter since they all buy bandwidth from Bell/Rog.

I got Rogers Extreme (95 gig cap)

I use a private torrent site, and all my downloads reach up to 1.1 MB/sec... they are decent in terms of reliability and speeds, just their prices are a rip off, and I hate the whole cap limit thing, but that's induced from the government I believe...

I prefer Rogers 10 times over Bell though... and I have had both, had shitpatico when I was in Guelph, never again

I'm on Rogers, using public torrents and I'm getting 1.2Meg downloads. You just need to set it up right. since Bell uses the uber sandvine system it throttles you down to .5Mbps and it's very hard to get around.

Oh and TekSavvy has grown to Cable Internet, I'm thinking of switching from Rogers as they have an unlimited data plan.

mehh, same aids as rogers for the same price.. its just unlimited. ive NEVER exceeded my shit , so no need

With teksavvy and Rogers, what is the actual DL/Speed and U/l speed? This is what mine is doing right now, while uploading 4 torrents, and with 3 other computers on the internet right now.

Its a bit low, should be 14 MBPS

Rogers makes me rage. But that's mostly with mobile... sometimes with internetz.

I dunno, Rogers has been pretty good up until recently I've been experiencing the shittiest fucking ping randomly. But that might be other reasons...

WHAT I KNOW? :(

Teksavvy gets my vote, ive been with them for over a year, they've never failed me, always fast! Unlimited FTW! I once dl-ed over 300gb in a month! Didnt get charged extra!

i had rogers cable before sympatico and i remember the speed drops were often ridiculous and there was random downtime every few months that would take the technicians at least 24 hours to fix.

well, i got fed up with that shit and switched to sympatico DSL. 100GB cap for $60 bucks a month, NEVER experienced any unexpected downtime and while my peak speed is 750kbps at least it never fluctuates.

besides, who the fuck still uses torrents? that shit is so gay because the speeds aren't guaranteed AND you have to worry about avoiding speed caps, oh and you are expected to seed which of course eats up your bandwidth giving you nothing in return.
