Graphics issues :(

I've been noticed some choppiness in my gaming lately. When I turn moderately fast, the bottom part of the picture will lag behind ever so slightly, but enough that I notice it. This happens ALL the time in every game... except in Minecraft :feelscry:

I got Mirror's Edge from a friend who had a spare key and I decided to give it a shot. I get that it's a graphics-intensive game, but I'm lagging to SHIT during the SWAT parts. Is that the nature of that game?

Also, sometimes when I tab out of games that are in full screen, the picture on that screen freezes. To get out of the freeze, I have to CtrlAltDel, then cancel out of CtrlAltDel Menu and the picture is gone. Other days, it doesn't do that.

Any help is appreciated.

You can try any combo of these:

- Update GFX Driver
- If your GFX card is better than your CPU; max out GO Graphics. Reverse if opposite is true
- Limit your fps
Code:
fps_max "100"
in your config. You pick a number. I choose 60 because that's my monitor's refresh rate.
- make sure cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate are 128, and rate 80000
- fuck with interp settings (google, don't ask here.. shit can get complicated)

I'm not sure what may or may not work for you, but I can tell you I've noticed a horizontal 'bar' of screen lag behind here and there, but only in GO.. mainly because it's the worst game ever installed on my computer.

Also, use GPU monitoring software to ensure that your GPU is actually doing work - Nvidia's software can be very fussy sometimes, depending on how you have it setup. Granted, it's likely not the cause of your problems, but it's a very easy variable to eliminate and could save you a lot of time and frustration if it turns out to be a factor.

These changes to the config have fixed the choppiness, at least in TF2. Thanks! :)

I'll see if these will help with Mirror's Edge. I really like the game so far, but it's hard to enjoy when it gets so laggy during the SWAT parts :feelscry:

A player from the other gaming community I'm part of said that disabling PhysX would fix the lag problem and after testing it, it does indeed. However, it does NOT reduce the quality of the gameplay, which surprised me.

Thanks for all the help, guys! =D
