I don't know whats happened but suddenly both my CSS and TF2 won't find any servers unless I go through the steam servers list and when I do that, they refuse to connect to any games. I just get a message saying connection failed after 4 retries. I've googled the issue, but no use. Any ideas? I'm being game deprived. IT'S BEEN 3 DAYS I'M DYING.

open steam, go to your game list, right click the games and verify the game cache. also defrag the game files (if you are using a hard drive and not a solid state). you can always try reinstalling too.

I had this happen before; I just waited it out and eventually an update came down the line and fixed it, apparently sometimes if there is an update it doesn't load properly and so your fucked until either new patch or re-install

You try deleting your "clientregistry.blob" ? It's in the root of the counter-strike folder. Give 'er a shot. Also, save a copy of your config to your desktop (to keep as a backup), then DELETE the config in the config folder. Start the game without a config, it should auto-generate one for you. This trick has worked for me.

If you don't know where any of the files are:

clientregistry.blob -> C:/programfilesx86/steam/clientregistry.blob

your config -> C:/programfilesx86/steam/steamapps/YOURNAMEHERE/counter-strike source/cstrike/cfg/config

Should any of this work, and you're ok finding servers again, exit any games and close steam. Once Steam is closed, you may replace the generic config with the backup you saved on your desktop, and try again. If it fucks up again, send me your config, and I'll find the corruption - IFF that's the issue.
