Flats for rent

Oi oi geezas,

So there's a good chance i may move to Toronto soon for work and other malarky, and i'll be looking for a humble abode there. Since most of yous are from there, I was wondering what the prices would be for flats in downtown area. 1 bedroom, bachelors whatever. Or if you know of any websites.

Cheers,

Dawg

downtown core quality highrise apartament

bachelors 750-900

1bedroom 1000-1400

depending on what's included.

rooms in houses will cost less, but you usually end up sharing stuff like the kitchen and washrooms.

also, no one calls them flats here, this aint England.

You don't have to be downtown to live in Toronto. a 30min Transit ride out of the city and your looking at around $800 for a 1br (750+sq ft). A lot of Bachelor apartments in downtown are fucking small (less then 500 sq. ft.) and go for about $800.

Going too far north will be really cheap but shit for getting downtown. East is cheaper then West, But East has less highways/routes leading to downtown.

Go on toronto.craigslist.ca if anything it will give you a range of pricing:intersection if nothing else. Just be careful on CL a lot of scams have been flooding it.

dont diss 500 square feet, i live in a 1 bedroom 500ish square foot place, and believe me for a single guy this is waaay more than enough, and this is coming from someone that spent the last 6 years in a 3000 square foot house.

Cheers guys.
Well id prefer somewhere relatively close to downtown since that's where the job would be. And i'm too damn lazy to commute.
Btw whats the difference between bachelors and 1 bedroom?

Bachelor usually looks like a Hotel room rather then an apartment. Tiny cramped places with a toilet, and some sort of Kitchen.

a bachelors, sometimes refered to as a studio, is just one room, with a side kitchen and a side washroom, and if you're lucky a closet/hall sort of thing

a 1 bedroom is actualy two bedrooms (by european standards), you get a "living" room, usualy openly connected with the kitchen, and then a seperate room with a door, this is the afformented bedroom.

@47 - Coming from Scotland, but been living in Ottawa past couple of months.

@Narf - The workplace is bang in the middle of the financial district i.e Wellington St

@dead Mike - Looks quite nice actually m8 plus the addition of a gym is a big plus esp. if its included in the price. I wonder if it comes furnished like that.

If you know of anymore pleasse keep posting :D

Are you talking about Wellington in Aurora? That's half an hour north of Toronto.. finding a place to live in that area would be half as cheap as downtown.

Haha i dont think so. Mind you, my knowledge of Toronto is limited to the CN tower.
All i know for sure its in the downtown area, where all the banks and shit would be.

After 15 hours of driving drudgery. Got a place on Jarvis street. Moving to Toronto this Saturday.

Hopefully see some of you geezas around!!
