Now, best part.
I went to Future Shop this morning and talked to one of the guys there asking if I could get away with just buying myself a new video card. Well, good thing is, yes I can because I just don't have the money or the time to save up for a new computer.
So this is good, but here's what I'm dealing with... Since I have the HP Slimline, a normal video card wouldn't fit so I'd have to buy a video card through the American HP company since here in Canada, apparently, we don't have small video cards.... but the states do... whatever.
So the reason why I posted the photos was because the guy also told me that my video card might be built into the mobo... which then completely fucks me over and I have to buy a new comp reguardless.

Can any of you SEE it? I took as many photos as I could...
Worst case, I'm going to bring it into Tiger Direct and have them take a look to see if it can be done or not.

EDIT: I have a hunch that it's underneath the hard drive... but I don't want to rip that out since I don't know what I'm doing.

Looks like you have onboard video, but that also doesnt mean you 'must' use it, aka you can still buy a video card.

However, by the looks of it you're going to be spending too much on a shitty video card just because it'll fit in your pc.

tl;dr you need a gaming rig

Yes it looks like the video is integrated. However that doesn't preclude you from buying a card and installing it.

However I'm not sure how powerful of a card you'll be able to get that short, but it shouldn't have to come from HP either. What specific model of slimline do you have?

I'll look up the specs to see what type of interface that is and see what sort of card options you have.

I'm not sure what model is your slimline, but in hp site, they have the s5510t, which you can customize to add in a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 315 for $60.00usd or a 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5450 $100.00usd. Not the greatest, it's better than the integrated, a bit overprice for a ATI HD5450 tho. A regular ATI HD5450 is around $60ish cnd, but its still cheaper than buying a brand new computer.

So give HP a call and see if they will sell you a video card, and ship it to Canada. :D

Sorry to say but doesn't matter what card you get, your goin to need to change the powersupply as well.
Slim line computers usually only have a 200w(or less) powersupply in them, and it's just not enough power.

I'm afraid your shit outa luck.

well here's a option where you can do, disassemble the computer, keep the RAM, CPU, HDD, and DVD rom, buy a new motherboard, power supply/case and video card. for $300-400 dollar you should have a pretty decent upgrade.

I went into Tiger Direct this morning and they ripped it open and took a look. I got all the info I need and I called HP and found a new power supply of 12 V and 450 W.
Next, I install that and plop in a decent vid card and it should be good for a while...

I can handle paying $200, but yeah BJ, as much as I'd LOVE to get a whole new comp, what I have will have to do for now because I can't pay $900 without any help.

$450 later I got me a new case, a new mobo, a new power supply and a top of the line graphics card.
She'll be back and ready to go by tomorrow night.

So let's get BC2 running for Mandy, ja? :D
