I made the mistake of clicking on the above link, but found this goodie.

For those who don't know, Mosanto is a company that creates genetically modified seeds, to cut a long story short. They do have some interedasting contracts that you sign into, but for the most part, nobody is forcing you to grow their crop. And it will increase global food supply, drammatically.

Think of that in a developing country. You wouldn't need to ship food into africa, they would have a genetically modified wheat seed that would grow in the terrain, and it would lighten the load of those countries that are always on the give.
