Think about it, what is the square root of an negative imaginery number?

Is it an imaginery number? So if so, then sqrt(-i) = i.

But this can't be, for all numbers not 1 which is excluded from the first part (x = sqrt(*))

First of all you can't say i with any modification still equals i, it doesn't work that way.

So let's see what we have: y=1, y=sqrt(-x)
So 1=sqrt(-x), square both sides, 1=-x
You defined x as i, but -1 does not equal i.
What am I missing?
