So many things wrong this video....

First the Mens Rights statistic.
"40% of Men are domestically assaulted"
Yet, 75% of perpetrators of domestic violence are men. So then, Women assault men 10% of the time.
10% is clearly too low of a number to show in a sensationalized video.

Moving on to the video

The two arguments they have are vastly different from each other.
The man's argument is a typical over controlling/paranoid partner statement. This is an "A" typical situation of when an assault happens.
So duh, women stand up for other women in these situations.

The Women complains about him
a) not listening - Something all Women will be sympathetic too
b) says a sociocultural stereotype "be a man" - Which lets be honest, is what everyone around him is thinking.

Why didn't they use the same argument?
Why don't they show us two men having the same argument and assaulting the other?
Why don't they show us two women having the same argument and one assaulting the other?

This video wants to "shine a light" to help the 10% of the abused male population.
When it should be shinning a light on the much larger issue at hand:
Why aren't we looking at why humans are abused in the first place.

It's great to have a cause, but all this video does is try to dupe the viewers into thinking that women abuse men 40% of the time.

My wife abuses me. No, not mandy, hailey haze, Pyroette, or C-Bear, not even, Kaitlen, no the real one.

This is my cry for help.

I think that 40% stat is probably true, however not on paper. Let's face it, men will never report being assaulted by a girl. I think the very fact that the laws are so over-the-top in favour of women is the very reason why women don't think twice about hitting men. I think the definition of assault has people thinking 'beatings', when they should think 'laying hands on someone'.. then I think the numbers could be more accurate.

I think BJ nailed it, straight on. Because every single incident is not reported, there's no way to precisely name a percentage, but I've seen enough of the public to feel confident in saying that while men are more commonly the ones doing it, it's not a polar incident. It happens to both.

Regardless of how much it is happening to whichever gender, it needs to be stopped.

Obviously the video isn't going to be 100% accurate - it's a video designed to go viral. It's designed to get you talking about it and to encourage men and women to stand up against violence. Job half done - you're talking about it!

Also, you can't point out how inaccurate the video is because the statistics themselves are inaccurate. You can only argue from an empirical point of view - the same point of view that we are trying to change. Like buckshot said, most of these cases (especially on the male side) aren't reported.

Are you ladies a bunch of poofs? Being abused by a girl? It's like being beat up by a 12yold.

Laugh hysterically, walk out the door, and join your mates for a pint at the pub.

Problem fucking solved.
