Dealing with Spam on the Forums

I've been clearing a lot lately too. Do we have access to Google's new Captcha thing with our version of Xenforo? Could also try content filtering, using that HTML link syntax that the bots always seem to use.

If I may suggest...

I found an extremely handy method for sorting the bots from people on my old forums - I created a text box and text that was invisible to the naked eye (text/line colors same as background - saying "what's 2+2") - the spam-bots do not require a different color to be able to pick up the text, and so place the answer in the provided text box - if the text box has anything in it the registration fails. Works like a charm.
