CSGO stuttering

Fork Included

EDIT:

so after some time i finally narrowed it down to a connection issue, as when i load the game in an "offline with bots" mode i don't get any stuttering

i also realized that my game rates before i join a game aren't the same as the rates when I'm in the game. I changed in console before actually joining the server and it seemed to have gotten better but still stutters from time to time

can people share their current rates setups or ranges through which i should try

it's being crazily annoying

Edit: I'm now full of pizza and have shat all I can shit right now.

I'll just list a few of the key items that I think make my game run well:

1. Disabled all power features on my LAN port (I use my motherboard's default LAN port and do not have a seperate card):
lan_settings.png

2. Here's my CS Launch Options:
CS_Launch_Options.png

3. Here's some key config values:
Code:
cl_cmdrate "128"
cl_forcepreload "1"
cl_updaterate "128"
dsp_enhance_stereo "1" //You may want to try disabling this if your on-board sound is shit. Takes processing power, although I'm not sure how much
fps_max "121" //Set this to whatever your monitor's refresh rate is. I leave the extra '1' so it doesn't jump down to 119, kind of like a safety net
cl_interpolate "0"
cl_interp_ratio "1"
cl_interp "1"
voice_threshold "2000" //Levels out peoples' microphones by using compression
rate "128000"

4. Alternatively, I've uploaded my config here in case you wanted to have a look at it for other values that might interest you. **Just click the grey "Download This File" button and it will prompt you for a 'Captcha' code and it's yours. Please note Windows will warn you as it's a .cfg file, and Windows thinks it may harm your computer. Ignore and download the config, I wouldn't put any of you in harm's way.**

On to the nitty gritty. There's a lot of other shit that may have caused the 'stutter' you're getting. Obviously, check all hardware, watch your CPU/GPU loads via Task manager and MSI Afterburner as you game and see if any wicked spikes occur. It may be a process from another application/software/service (HP printers are known to be terrible) that may cause unwanted, periodical load. I've listed a few things to check (they will take time):

1. Shit HDD Speed?
2. Verify Game Cache
3. Ensure the HDD where Steam/CS is installed has at least 10GB free, no bullshit
4. Shit RAM?

I'll keep thinking....

also for reference I currently defaulted to

128/128/128000, interp 0 interp_ratio 1

this made it better, I now stutter maybe 2 or 3 times per round as opposed to like 10-12 before.

right now I'm hopping in and out of the sever and playing with just the 2 bots, so the least server load possible, and I consistently stutter while moving and shooting

also I don't seem to stutter when I spec individual people

another point I'd like to make is that i only got back into go like 3 weeks ago. At first, i played from a different location on a very shitty PC. My frames were horrible but it didn't stutter.

last week when i got back home and played off my normal, high end PC is when i noticed the massive stutters.

i tried playing the game off the other, shitty PC, and it stutters as well. Maybe it's my home connection? Ethernet cable?

I just recently got a package upgrade after bitching to rogers, my internet is otherwise fast and my "ping" is one of the lowest when on the server (25-30ms in Net Graph).

my packet loss/choke is also stable at 0

so whatever is getting lost... i don't know where

again when I load up with bots offline there are no issues

This morning I also downloaded Bad Company 2 and some new Ghost Recon bullshit and played both online. Both had smooth online play, no issues.

my rate settings are the same as yours, and i toggled that LAN thing as well.

i just joined our server (half busy) and it's back to a heavy stutter

have nothing running the background, i even tried to turn the steam overlay on/off,

nada

So it's a go problem. I'm not surprised, worst game in history. I'll keep digging.

Edit: mat_queue_mode "2"
Ensure it's in your configuration.

anything I could do?

can I call rogers up and ask them to streamline my connection to a particular IP? (TD's server)
