So is this game worth picking up?

Haven't really played CSS in a while and what not so im not even sure if people still play that.

Have all of you switched?

Not everyone has switched.
Some people have stuck with CSS completely.
Others have said they prefer CSS and mainly play that, but pop on to CSGO for a while every so often.

According to some people, the CSS server is 'crickets' but it fills up every so often.

GO is literally a revamped version of CSS.
I think a lot of people would tell you that.

Yes a revamped version of CSS with less interactive physics, worse sounds, worse skins, and a lot less good maps to play.

Over all its meh. I mean its not a waste of $15, but at the same time its no super deal for $15. Its just a $15 game.

Game will prolly be F2P in 6 months with hats.

CsGO seems to have attracted the tards from CSS to be frank. You will find the game play on the CSS server is actually better and you no longer have to wait on a full server. however the place only fills up during prime time and is empty the rest of the day.

Personally I have been enjoying CS:GO, that being said is it a vast improvement over CS:S? Visually: Yes. Gameplay: Meh, I mean they have fixed a few things while at the same time creating more problems.

Worth $15? Well seeing as CS:S retail was 29.99 (box) back in the day, and still is 19.99 (29.99 for anthology) then I will say yes, for the gameplay experience it is very much worth the $15, heck I would even say it would do well at the same price as CS:S (19.99)

The problem that plagues it right now is not very many maps and not very many player models, but I think this will soon change. It seems Valve wanted to make CS:GO a bit more community run (Map making, skins, etc) like it has been doing recently with its other game (see TF2 and Dota 2) and I wouldn't be surprised to see "workshop" open up for CS:GO soon-ish.

CS:GO is in my opinion a great gaming in the 'making'. It still needs a bunch of updates, and yes, they are coming! Just play it, be open to something 'new' and enjoy!

+1 to the CS:GO band-wagon.

im still down on the game on regular play mode, but I do have a lot more fun with gun game on GO than with cs:s could be the different maps and different skins for each map.

As far as GO, I didn't like source but loved 1.6 and I think this game has a lot of redeeming qualities. Yes, it causes problems too and is still random as hell but the game for 15 dollars is DEFINITELY worth buying. Its a lot of fun and the darkly server is great :D
