CS:GO

I've been looking into CS:GO and wanted to know your opinions on it.
It looks good and I want to get it, but at the same time it looks like a re-textured CS:S.
Do you guys thinks I should get it? And can someone tell me the pros and cons?

It's beta right now even if they tell you other wise.

Another month or two maybe 6? It'll be better.

They had a really good balance before "Release Day" when the update broke everything and made it a crappy version of Source. The deagle has poor range, the other pistols got nerf'd from Source to GO, they're not very useful anymore. The m4 is harder to spray with and not really any better in general. The ak is still the most OP gun in any game, and they made it better. It's easier to ak spray than m4 spray now. The galil got a little boost, so did the famas (but only in burst fire, spray is worse). The aug is now worthwhile to buy. SMGs are nerf'd a lot. No more p90 rush, but if you learn the guns they are still effective.

The game modes are okay, if used properly. There's a casual that gives your armour and diffuse kits and a competitive that doesn't. Gungame is built in.

The person handles just the same as before, jump crouching is not as needed in the remade maps, but still a required skill.

The graphics are upgraded, yes. It's a double edged sword, it looks better, but the redesigned maps and the plants and shadows make camping a lot easier.

Any further questions?

That about covers it man, Thanks a bunch!

Not a problem. I look forward to seeing you on the servers when you have a spare 15$. :)
(Please don't kill me, though. I suck at GO)

It's already better than Source. There's no such thing as "needs to get better". There's only up and forward with GO. Source and 1.6 have met a dead-end. They aren't going to be pushing any real updates or tweaks to either game.

CS:GO will eventually see the likes of all top tiered 1.6 US and European teams as it is being picked up in nearly every area in the world for tournaments and online qualifiers.

CS:GO will be seeing TONS of changes in the extremely near future. Everything essentially from cosmetic to physics.

If ESPORTS are an indicator of quality game why don't you play Halo or CoD?

Both of those games are good indicators of a consistent game environment in terms of shooting and hitboxes. (Take away high pings; only on LAN or very similar pings). Sure, they add things to the game that make it shitty but if you dumb it down to its basics. (The core physics) it's a very consistent and enjoyable game.

I'm not trying to be some jackass... That's what happens with every decent revision of a game. Source didn't do the justice so GO is forced to.

There will be some good updates coming.

And by the way, I have competed for leagues in both those games for numerous seasons. Console and non-console. I'm not being biased towards any game, just saying the way the industries work together shows that this is most likely to happen.

It needs tweaking for sure. but unlike other new shit games like BF3, I'm actually liking it more as I play it. So theres hope.
