CS:GO Map Suggestions?

Okay, I think I have a pretty good list for now. I can't think of anything else. I was very tempted to put de_shift and de_cpl_fire on the 'put on server immediately' list, but de_cpl_fire in particular is really fucking ugly. However, I remember it playing extremely well from a gameplay perspective in past CS games. de_shift may be a bit too small for 32 players, but I'm not certain.

Fuck, I hate that map. Hailey and Narf rub their privates over it, though.
Yeah, and I think that the author kind of fucked up this version. His previous version was even worse, but this version only has a few things that kind of bother me - the truck outside near CT spawn, and the corridor that was added on the upper level of the building. And aesthetically it's awful at the moment.

EDIT: Finished, for now. All in my opinion, of course. Anyone, feel free to disagree with me. I had certain criteria in mind when putting this together. I'd be happy to go into more detail if anyone wants me to.


Here are my thoughts...

Office and vertigo need to burn in a fire.

de_ali should be tested first, because there's a two of area that tunnel (Long A and tunnels to B), which would make it really CT sided. Also, bombsite B is really small.

de_ruins is big enough for 32 and taking/re-taking bombsite is fair.

de_cpl_fire_ecg_ve is huge!

Add de_cache!

Yeah, I was hoping that someone would bring up these points about de_ali. My take regarding tunnels to B is that B site (or the general area around B) is divided up into several different corridors and rooms that make the site different from de_dust2's B, for example. CTs are always able to get to B pillar room before Ts do (I guess technically pillar room isn't B site). However, if the Ts can manage to take pillar room, they have a couple of different approaches to take to capture B. It's definitely a bottleneck, no doubt about that. As for A, it's wide open. In my mind, though, this is great for 32 players. A 16 player team should be able to hold that site well with smokes. Although, because this is a pub we're taking about, some people are idiots and run through smoke all the time...

Regarding de_ruins, my biggest concern with that map is player visibility. The map is definitely big, it's definitely pretty, and you're right about the bomb sites. But player visibility is incredibly important.

de_cache was in rotation. Was it removed? This is one of the best maps currently available right now, imo.

And finally, I actually have one more recommendation. de_cortona_pro: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=139519337. Apparently this was a CS:S map, but I've never played it before. I checked it out with bots tonight and it looks good to me.

Hey Shotgun Jesus, the author of as_oilrig just updated the map and added a hostage in as a temporary replacement for the VIP. I don't know if you want to give this version of the map a shot on the server, but I just thought I'd let you know.

Agency isn't that fun IMO. It's just T's camping in spawn with the CT's taking over mid immediately with no resistance. The map though... definitely fappable.

Yeah, the key to holding off the CT push is to smoke off the main hallway near the washrooms and control the staircase in mid. The Ts should have like 4-5 guys at the staircase just picking people off. They should be able to get there before the CTs do.

In your experience, what have other people been saying about the map? It doesn't seem to be killing the server. Certainly, if a map is killing the server, fuck my opinion and just remove the map. I definitely like cs_agency, though, and not just for its looks.

But because the models are as detailed as they are and are as HD (just a guess), FPS is lowered and sometimes staggers, but it isn't as bad as Piranesi.
The T's tend to stack the right side a lot on the map (if you're in T spawn and are facing towards the CT's). There's a lot of temptation to camp the right side as the doorway is extremely easy to camp and most CT's who push in are immediately mowed down by the person at the end of the hall. Overall it's a great map, although only if the T's choose to actually do things instead of the CT's pushing and the T's just sitting down and enjoying the view.
The stairway on the left side of the map is an issue though. If the CT's manage to start picking T's off on that side then there's really nothing stopping them from grabbing the hostage in the middle of the T side, besides a smoke or a couple of T's camping the end of the spiral stairway.

We're making the server 24/7 cs_office deathmatch knife-only with super low gravity. Thanks for all the suggestions, though.

it's not fun when T's camp T spawn. Like... in the buy zone. It's because the map is so small that T's are feeling constricted to spawn.
I guess time will tell with cs_agency, but I honestly feel that the Ts really need to haul ass over to mid staircase and get better at holding it. We'll see.
