client port?

for some reason i'm having problems getting cs to run smoothly..

is there a configuration for the port i should be using? i've fucked around with rates to no avail..

Not that I know of. you can goggle ports for CSS or any other game for that matter, but unless you're running a router then it shouldn't be an issue anyways.

Have you tried:
"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 240 -heapsize 512000

Put that in the properties of the CSS s.c. on your desktop.
512K ram is the biggest CSS will use, anything more will have no effect and will make things worse.

I think you mean 512 MB, not 512 KB, but the rest of the post is still valid
