Not sure how this shit works....

I'm thinking of getting a new cell phone, I'm on contract with FIDO for another year and a bit.

I currently have the LG Neon which is slow as fuck and looking like its going to be broken soon due to its shit slider.

I see on ebay you can get an "unlocked" Cect i9 3G Phone. Will that work on my FIDO sim card?

I don't have a data package with FIDO, nor do I need one is that an issue?

If anyone knows about this shit let me know.

I don't know about the quality of those Chinese knock-off phones. Personally, I wouldn't risk getting a Cect.

However, any unlocked GSM phone is going to work with Fido. And you don't need a data package if you're not going to use any data dependent features on the phone.

I'm not thinking long term here, FIDO blows shit. Just want something cheap to get me through my contract. I can get one for like 40 bucks on Ebay.

You can also get a half-decent basic phone at a local big-box store like futureshop/bestbuy that'll cost you like $50... it's a safer out if you just want something to dial.
