It's a routing problem,

Doubtful it's on rogers end if you're getting past hop 4

Instead of changing the DNS server options, connect to the server via IP address and preventing any forms of scripting (Java, Flash, etc.) from running (best done with an add-on/extension). See what happens.

Was the proxy that you ran installed locally on the computer or just a simple web proxy? An installed proxy will change the port you're using to connect, a web proxy won't. Similarly, if you ran your traceroute from your computer, try running one from a website (Google it), or vice versa if you used an online traceroute.

Lastly, did you change the DNS server in your router configuration or in the adapter configuration on your computer?

Tried to connect directly to the ip, didnt work.

It was a web proxy.

I changed the DNS server on my computer. I did not do it through the router because i only use this laptop myself.

Do you have multiple adapters installed? Did you change the DNS settings in the actual adapter configuration or through a third-party program?

Also, that traceroute I mentioned could prove interesting.

Open up command prompt and enter ipconfig /all>>%SystemDrive%\ip.txt Go get the file and copy/paste the results up here. Censor anything you want to.

Changed my DNS as well. Did nothing =[

Edit: Also, im guessing its something to do with the router at this point since the site stopped working around the time (i think) Rogers gave us a new modem/router in 1, a Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway.

FUCK! Something is fucked with Rogers, I have been getting fucked-up lag-out issues lately and even a bud in Cambridge with Rogers is having same issues.
