Burning Crones Dome: Shark?

HappySticks™

TD Admin
So for those of you who haven't read up on it yet. There is a lot of drama going around about a current TF2-T Admin potentially sharking a Burning Crone's Dome (160 Buds) from a completely inexperienced user who had just unboxed it. Another TF2-T Admin named Apollo got involved in it and was revoked of her Admin. There is now a lot of controversy about the actions taken in regards to this and if there will be anymore additional punishments to those involved.

Apollo's Story:

Yes I lost my Admin at Tf2-trader.
A burning Crones was sold for
60 pure + Roboactive Bunsen Brave + Ghosts Neckwear + Aussie Sticky

The Current offers on it have been around ~200, you can look at them here...

You are welcome to make your own Heads or Tails of it

I believe its a Shark, and I took full reponsiblity for the actions I took, and I did what I thought was best for the community. It was said that I made the issue public, instead of handling it internally. Which was not the case, the whole incident occured on PPM, and the matter was made public before I had a hand into it. This is my story of what happened, whether you choose to believe me or not.

Yesterday in PPM, Someone( We'll call him T) traded for a Burning Crones Dome, and told everyone in the server what they paid for it. Listening to it, I was curious because I didn't know there had been a new crones, and the fact that the offer seemed extremely low and sketchy. I decided to do some research, because I usually help new people who unbox their hats and help them get a price so they can't get sharked. I asked a friend to get the name of the Owner of the Burning Crones on Backpack.tf (he had premium). So I contacted the person who owned it. I then approached T, and asked him what happened with the deal, and that it seemed kind of sketchy. I then asked him to tell the person to add me and he said he probably wont add you. Then another person got involved (We'll call him M). He told me to back off and to support my fellow admins in this case, and not to undermine them. I told him that Its not about admin fellowship, its about what happened, and whether this person got sharked or not. Admins in my opinion, have a duty to the community, that they have to put all personal interests aside, and to help the people in the community. So I got in contact with the Unboxer, and found out what happened.
He unboxed it at Midnight, and was not someone who traded. He figured it was around 100 just from a few friends the had told him that. T approached him, and he asked for 100 mixed. Knowing that he was a new trader, T took full advantage of this, knowing in full fact what the actual value of the Burning Crones was. I told the kid what the price was, or approximately what had been offered, and he was sad. As can be expected, he was dissapointed that the community was in this way, and he tried to get a reversal of the trade, and T refused. Saying, Final sale, no tradebacks.

This is what happened, I tried to talk to T and M and try to get the matter fixed, and then I went to PPM, to talk to one of the admins, because all of the Tf2-T admins were offline or away. Then I came back to Tf2-t, and T and M followed me, and harassed me in the private Admin chat, and over the mic and over the text. Some of you might remember this, I told them to knock it off and that this wasnt the time or the place. I wanted to speak to the Owner of Tf2-t before anything was done.

Thats what happend. My admin got removed because I tried to get to the bottom of the matter, talking to other admins and etc. And I leaked the security of Tf2-t. When the matter was in fact on PPM itself. I'm sad that no consequences were given to the Shark, and I was removed for bringing the matter to a forefront.
Whether they removed my admin or not, I had decided on my own, that if no consequences were given I would be done with the community. This is my personal decision, and that I gave the community my all, and this is how I was treated. I know this won't concern some of you but I needed to tell my story because I didn't want it to stay quiet, and let the people who got away with what they did to remain anonymous.
I had the best intentions, and I wanted Tf2-T to be safe, and the community to be safe. I know this and all my other actions will create enemies, but sometimes for the greater good, it is necessary.

You can make your own decision about what happened.

To Be Clear, T and M are Admins of Tf2-T, and The Owner was not one of them. And the actual incident occurred on PPM, but not the negotiations.

For those that understand where I'm coming from. Show support by putting #SharkWeek.

TF2-Traders' Response:

We at TF2-Trader.com do not usually discuss business outside of our staff but we feel this needs to be said to counter the misinformation being spread in regards to Apollo losing her admin Status.

Im sure most people would understand that every organisation has a chain of management and expect their staff to act accordingly within that structure.
Apollo was a jnr admin on trial with TF2-Trader and she went outside that chain taking it upon herself to approach staff from another community to investigate an incident involving a fellow staff member without first consulting or informing management at TF2 Trader.com, this comprimised the integrity of our staff structure basicly leaving us as the last to know.
Apollo did not want to understand our point of view of her actions and during our conversations with her, she simply would not accept our reasons of why the way she handled things were wrong and after several hours of management discussions it was decided to remove her admin status and it was for these reasons and these reasons alone.
TF2-Trader.com has not tried to cover anything up in regards to this as we simply do not discuss staff issues outside of TF2-T just like any other community or organisation

Pending Report on SteamRep:

Users that wear the #SharkWeek in their names are being permanently banned from the TF2-T servers without warning.

I could care less about this, but I am curious to see what will happen. Thoughts?

I think the transaction was just a scummy trade. The Admin in question didn't lie but they certainly didn't include all relevant details, like how much it has actually sold for. I think the Admin in question (I assume you left out the name for a reason) should have offered the right amount or at least made sure the unboxer was fully aware of the value, especially for such a high-tier hat.

I also highly doubt that the unboxer got "exactly what they wanted" without knowing how much the hat was actually worth.

This should be a good lession for everyone. If you are lucky enough to unbox anything of "value", then just wait and research, do not quicksell.

Steve once sharked Bills hat from me.

Did I use this terminology correctly?

Furthermore it shows that just because someone is an Admin at a highly well-known community doesn't necessarily make them trustworthy.

I thought your #SharkWeek tag was because it was Shark Week on discovery channel or something.
I hate to see that people in high ranks still pull stunts like this, you think everyone would have learned after the mishaps with STAR, Pink Taco and others.

STAR's not really known as a trader though, and it wasn't his fault. Pink Taco, on the other hand, is a different story.

I thought the same thing lol
And what about Pink Taco? I thought he was hacked, I didn't here about any "sharking"?
