Sal 30 mins before bed you should be getting some sort of Casein protein it is a slow absorb protein which will help feed muscles while sleeping. I take optimum casein it also has other nutrients that help as a sleep aid.

And 90lb straight back isn't very much. If I'm envisioning correctly, I do double 75lb dumbbells straight armed from my side to over my head in front of me. That's only 150 most bouncers can lift a 150lb man straight backed

thanks, i didn't even realize there was a difference in types of protein. i've been doing some quick reading on it, apparently the kefir i'm always drinking is loaded with casein so i guess i have to be more strategic about when i deploy that or the whey.

i had a big (for me) breakfast today, 2 packs of instant oatmeal + half a cup of wheat bran, mixed in a big spoonful of peanut butter n jam and a cup of kefir. gonna go for a run now to build hunger for a beastin lunch feast.

my gains have really taken off the past few days compared to just a week ago thanks to y'alls advice, I have more energy in my workouts too now which helps to squeeze in a few extra exercises. i'm looking forward to what i can get done in tomorrow's workout

btw, i'm not really into eating a bucket of ice cream daily, is drinking a pint of lager an acceptable substitute? i mean, it's full of carbs and the alc content is low

haha i like to cheat with a beer or 3 a night it won't hurt ya. I don't eat ice cream tho lactose problems.


There is only one protein you need to stay away from and that is SOY. Soy will increase your estrogen levels and if those get too high it can lead to literal boobs instead of nice pecs.


Keep up the good work and you will notice gains and grow more hungry. Make sure you are getting close to 2 gallons of water a day as well, it will help flush all the bad out and help keep those muscles from getting sore.

I was working out a year ago every other day, I was using 50% of my time in the gym to do cardio. Say I was going on the stationary bike for thirty minutes at level 20, I noticed the day after I had even one beer I always had to go down a couple notches say to level 15 or 17 for the session. Could just be my failing liver kicking my ass, but u know, just smoke some weed as a substitute, even Arnie in pumping iron takes a few tokes off a joint, so that should be perfectly fine.

Also fuck lifting weights, I lift light ass nickel plates.

Cardio is one thing i have never done in the gym, i count my work day as my cardio and when i was playing in a softball league.

Beer has never really effected me at the gym, tho i normally drink them on my workout days which is every other day.

nasty business that stuff, i don't touch soy. i do eat a fair bit of flax seeds but my test levels are above average so maybe it's suppressing the estrogen effect? pecs are coming along nicely for me actually, full and stiff. i've run out of plates to add so i'm just adding reps to my sets for the next week or two while the back gets tough enough to support more weight (it's a bitch having to lift weight from the ground for stuff like bench presses). gonna hook up one of them doorframe pull-up bars too, luckily i got some heavy duty steel frames to handle it

for your personal goals man, you don't need to break it down into the nitty-gritty science of effects and consequences. It's great info for sure, but from what you've explained it doesn't sound like you're trying to be a muscle-head that has to turn sideways to walk through a doorway.

you're doing the right things already. Increasing your food intake and lifting weights on a regular basis. You're gonna get bigger regardless. The hardest part is once you've reached your ideal 'bulk' is to keep and maintain it.

Brains I got the serious mass yesterday... i ordered it Weds night at like 7pm and it came on Thursday..... I am taking half servings and holy hell they are big servings, 1/2 serving is 8ozs of powder talk about a thick shake with 16ozs of milk. It mixes well and tastes good, I got the choc flavor.

Theres no way i'll take a full serving tho, we are talking about 2 pounds of milk (32ozs+) and a full pound of powder that is insane.
