My sis's fag ass bf broke her screen on her mac book. I need to try to recover the info on the disc, i haven't even tried yet but i noticed it's all enclosed and there is no panel to access the hd. i have no mac monitor so anyone got any pointers? Also when and if i can recover the info, the book will be for sale if anyone would be interested in it for parts or sumthin. i want to sell it on ebay but thought i would post it here 1st. it's a 2009 13.3" screen? white.

Step 1
- go to FutureShop/Apple Store and purchase a Mini-DVI to VGA, or Mini-DVI to DVI adapter. At FS (my store), they're $29.99.

Step 2
- Using the above adapter, a monitor of any kind and either a vga or dvi cable (depending on which adapter/monitor you have) = plug it in

Step 3
- If the Mac isn't already on while you're doing this, turn it on
- Much like Windows, it should automatically pick it up

NOW....
- If the monitor works, but there's no dock/icons or whatever, then it's defaulted to "Extended" mode, meaning you can't bring shit over cause the screen is broke :/
- If that doesn't work, try using Spaces/Expose to see some shit.
- Try hitting Command+Shift+U/Command+shift+A to bring up either Utilies/Applications = ANYTHING, just to browse to your settings and fix this.

Good luck.
