Hey guys, i recently picked up a kindle for cheap (ok fine i stole it) and im heading to Haitii for a lil bit with the Army. Im looking for some sci/fi fantasy books to get. Ive already downloaded a few star wars books and ive read all of Terry Brooks' books, the shanara series is amazing. Also a pretty big fan of dragonlance so any suggestions either here or in a pm would be cool :D

On the topic of star wars books.. here are some of my favorites..

First the Darth Bane trilogy, which takes place 500 years after the KOTOR games.

The Thrawn trilogy is also really good(takes place after episode six).

If you are into LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG series check out The New Jedi Order series which is a 19 book series that takes place after the movies and also after the Thrawn trilogy. SPOILER: one of the main characters from the original trilogy(4-6) dies in this series.

If you like star wars and dragonlance I bet you would like the "Vampire Earth" series.
The story begins in 2065 in a post-apocalyptic American setting. Forty-three years ago, in 2022, an alien race known as the Kurians triggered a series of natural disasters (as well as artificial ones) that enabled them to gain control of the planet and subjugate humanity.

The title may sound a bit lame but it has nothing to do with "traditional" vampires or twilight like bullshit.

Got any Dragonlance novels you suggest above all the others? I've only read the Chronicles Trilogy. Raistlin is a badass.

for a D&D series, go for R.A. Salvator. The drizzt series is good and an easy read.

salvatore does indeed rock. as does brooks. you may like david eddings, though he is more like robert jordan (writer of wheel of time) than terry brooks, he is a decent read.

my #1 recommendation right now is The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff - just don't see the movie because it was awful. it is a historical fiction which takes place in britain during the Roman era.

I'll add, Jasper Fforde's Tuesday Next series is a very easy read.
Also, Christofer Moore I loved "Bloodsucking Fiends" and "You Suck" also"A Dirty Job" was awesome.
