Yes. I typically work on plyo's, interval cardio training, basic weight training for muh legs and muscle confusion. I also eat like a pig and drink a lot of beer.

Right now I lift for strength twice a week to try and keep most of my lifts up, I haven't really been making progress in size gain or strength gain. My strength loss has been kept to a minimum.

2x a week:

Bench: 3x5
Over head press: 3x5
Squat: 3x5
deadlift: 2x5

a few isolation lifts and some cardio.

Keeps me in decent shape, I should probably try to get into better shape thoooo

Try this steve:

Build your reps and set like this

Set          Rep           Weight
1            12            x
2            10            x*1.25
3             8            x*1.5
4             6            x*1.75
5            12            x

So you're always pushing more weight, whatever weight that is (x) for whatever exercise. Its something new that I've been trying in the past couple years, reaaaally helps build your strength. By the time you're on your last set of 12, they feel light as a feather :)

WHat I do now when I train hard is go 3 times a week and do the same lifts, however I increase wieght by 5Lbs EVERY time I lift. Its hard, but works. Last time I plateaued at around 255 for 3 x 5 before I stopped lifting. Now I'm around 205lbs 3x5 after 7 months of neglect.

I like simple heavy compound lifts Bench, OH Press, Squat, Deadlift, and rows are all you need. You see much better gains with those compared to isolation shit and machines.

my ultimate goal originally was to be able to lift over 1000lbs with the big three lifts(bench, squat, deadlift) but the best I ever made was around 850lbs now I am a weak fag.

You young bucks think you can lift 500 lbs with one arm and standing on leg, I can do that 3 times that amount in my dreams. Suck it up young bucks! :D

I worked out in 2008 for almost the entire year at Premier Fitness. Ever since i canceled my membership i haven't had time to go and i think Premier is expensive.

I had no idea there was a good life at Sq1. Is it expensive and how is their facility?

@fork: I did parkour a couple years ago actually. I joined a website/forum (pkto.ca) that was basically a Canadian Parkour community. A few times a group of people from that site had meets here in Mississauga which i attended. They also had meets in Toronto and various other places. I haven't been on the site forever so i don't know if they still continue them.

Same, in rugby its super important to develop those stabilizing muscles, especially around the joints. The best thing about this program, is it gets you through those plateau's, its almost as if they're not even there.

Trust me dude, when you complete your "6" set, and you go back to your "12" set, its like you're lifting feathers.

Well, parkour doesn't strike me as a Aerobic type exercise, more of a mid range Anaerobic workout.

but I agree, you need goals. working out in the gym is perhaps the most mindless activity I have ever done.

be it the court, field, or track i sprint almost everyday. my weight training on the other hand has been spastic and uneventful lately because of basketball. I have been putting off getting a weight set to put in my garage for too long. but, there is also a speed and power developement factory where i live.

Growin up, i asked my madre (fitness trainer) what the best workout was. in short, she told me a bit of everything.

A heavyweight body builder can lift a bunch, but sure as shit can't run as far as a jogger.

Thus i'm doing superset resistance training on machines and weights, parkour, rope climbing, swimming and biking. i need to start drinking protein milk though, b/c i got a bad case of the "skinny genes".

you guys hear of these sauna suits for weight cutting? Opinions? I don't need to cut weight for anything, but I could drop a few pounds especially for the coming rugger season... thoughts?

That's a really unhealthy way to cut weight Leroy!

I do P90x dvds, they are good workouts that you can do from home with not that much equipment!! You can torrent these too :)

ha, well, I've been cutting weight since I was 14 ;), just never with a big plastic suit haha. Usually its on the old bike with a couple hoodies, on, then into the sauna
