So for those that don't know what Bill C-38 is:
http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/06/06/a-rough-guide-to-bill-c-38/
The basics:
-
“an Act to implement certain provisions of the budget.”
Problem?:
- "
C-38 numbers more than 400 pages and
amends
dozens of pieces of legislation. Among other things, it changes environmental regulations, amends the Fisheries Act,
allows
for new rules to be imposed on Employment Insurance,
repeals
the Fair Wages and Hours of Labour Act and eliminates the CSIS inspector general."

=> so From reading the bill so far (my GOD this bill is absolutely fucking massive), there seems to be the wish to establish all sorts of 'Boards' and 'committees' that are all too powerful; able to make all sorts of decisions on their own. This is handing a LOT of power (and along with it, the ability to single-handedly shape the future of Canada) to boards/committees of people who have, in my opinion, no right to make such choices. They're not even fuckin law makers, let alone deciding on these massive issues.
Some really fucked up parts of the bill, quoted from the actual bill (first link I posted):

"
There shall be payable to the Governor General for the 12-month period beginning on January 1, 2013 a salary of $270,602."

Cooperative Credit Associations Act

- PPP Canada Inc. is an agent of Her Majesty in right of Canada in relation to the following activities
i)
assessing public-private partnership opportunities for departments and Crown corporations in accordance with criteria established by the Treasury Board
ii)
advising departments and Crown corporations on the implementation of public-private partnership projects
iii) acting as a source of expertise and advice for departments and Crown corporations on public-private partnership issue
yet: "
Her Majesty in right of Canada is not liable for any obligation or liability incurred by PPP Canada Inc. in relation to any activity other than an activity referred to in section 211"
= heavily influence policy from abroad without any liability. GREAT.

"
A special or general direction of the Commission approving or disapproving a work sharing agreement for the purposes of subsection (1) is not subject toreview under section 11"

There's a ton more, but these forums are useless when it comes to formatting, as you can tell. I have no way of turning this shit on/off. I can't believe what I'm reading O.o.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/atlantic-premiers-want-harper-more-proposed-ei-changes-173930855.html

was reading this article the other day and this is one of the things that bugs me the most that harper is going to completely rape EI (I have never claimed it before just saying) he is making it pretty well impossible to get which is going to do a lot of harm to season workers like fishermen and so on
