Bans on nudity

A member got banned for a spray of a naked man, showing no genitalia, and the note was made that, "if it's offensive, it's bannable." (May or many not be a direct quote.) I know a bunch of sprays I've seen recently depicting the same containing the female form, many showing genitalia and even some showing penetration. I, personally, don't find offense in either case (thanks, Internet) but I understand that the rules are the rules.

What I don't want to see is a community where everybody reports every spray they 'may not like', because it'll just degrade from there. I also was here for "The Anar Days", when some Admins would openly ridicule anyone who complained, when their veiws conflicted.

I'm posting this here, because as has been pointed out, the Ban forum is not a place for those not involved. I wanted to invite discussion on the matter, as the member is getting, imho, a raw deal.

I have to agree with this. I have also heard a few admin continuously use the actual N word which is also a banning offense but that is not being enforced or even warned. While I do not get offended when playing a GAME on a server I enjoy playing on i don't care for the pick an choose system.

He was banned for a full week without one time being asked to stop spraying, he also plays on the server fairly often he is not a random player.

I've seen Zombie Jesus's spray before and of course I don't want to turn this whole thread about him and I have to agree. I'd say a week would be quite harsh without any warning. I think that issue is still not resolved yet, the banning admin hasn't responded and what not so I think we should hold off before we raise our pitch forks :p. But yeah his spray is like the spray I use, shows no nudity but I've never been warned about it, and similar to most sprays including women.

If this was anal sex between a man and a woman, personally I would have felt the same way about it.
It should not be shown on these kind of games.

Yeah things like this are slightly biased.

Most people would probably pass a giant pair of boobs in a server and not care.
But if they have to pass a giant cock and balls, all hell breaks loose.

I think neither are appropriate, to be honest.

We live in a world arbitrated by people, some according to laws, others not.

However, there are two things you should know, Age of Consent and Sex Crimes. Even a simple 'innocent' spray can go quite far in a case. However, is there really a reason to be posting half-nude humans or animals (furries/real animals) in a video game that has nothing to do with porn? Of course not, people do it for the shits and giggles because they know many do not approve, have rules set in place against it, is questionable, is rude, breaks Steam TOS, can end up in court if its reported.

In many regions, you must be 18 or above to view pornography/NSFW items, here in Canada, its 18, last I checked, DARKLY is based off of Toronto, and while some provinces might say 19, lets use the general age of 18. So not only is that a law, its also something that really does not need to be in games, period. Sure you might find it funny, but do you really find it funny for its content or for how you can enrage/hurt people with it? In case you didn't realize it, you committed a criminal act by not having the other gamers consent, while CS:S's baseline is in the middle age, there's still several people who are below it, you are taking away their rights using "rights" you never really have, online is no excuse, you can be held accountable for your actions, face consequences and forced to live with it. So not only are you violating their rights (While its in the internet, remember where the server you're playing at is.), you're also committing a criminal act by...

Indecent exposure, graphic rape, socially derogatory, and offensive, and so on...the list goes on and its really not much in your interest to know the bells and whistles besides this simple rule. If it can be questioned, don't use it. You wouldn't post a spray of a nude man in your room or out on the street without getting fined would you? Remember once again, this is in Canada, not Russia, not Japan, and certainly not England.

Sure its a game, but there are limits, the person who created this topic is searching for leniency when the topic is really serious and a no answer reply is the best reply as they knew what they've done, no description or retention is necessary. :3 (Personally, I don't care what they spray, but that's personal preference, not public.)

With that being said, other players on the pub may not be so secure with it and as im sure you are aware, majority of the players on the servers are male. Perhaps for the greater good, since the majority are male, male on male sprays are frowned upon since believe it or not, there are homophobes out there.

You must not watch much TV lately. I dont care if your in Canada or the most censored non-3rd world country (USA). You see images like the one zombie sprays all the time on national TV. The image he uses is less provocative than the majority of the sprays used on the CS:S server. I realize your don't play on the CS:S server and don't see the sprays used. Its complete Bull shit that he has a 1 week ban and its not being revoked and has been told to enjoy his time off now. I know with as much time as i have logged on this server i have NEVER ONCE seen anything said to zombie.

Btw look at how many times the word FAG or FAGGOT is used on the server. The search doesn't even show them all.

The one who appears to be the banning admin violates "3. No form of abuse, discrimination and racism, real or implied will be tolerated by ANY admin on this server. Show respect to all other players on the server, and try to avoid arguments." quite often according to the chat logs.

I can search the chat log for hours and find 100's of things that have been said using the "y" chat which is all that shows in the chat log by admins that violate said rule.
