Auto-Balancing and Match Caps

I've been playing on the Toronto Darkly GO server now for a bit and me and Hyena(My clan mate), had discussed some suggestions for the server. I know that its easy to suggest things without proper ways of how to propery implement said processes, but its a start =P.

So the first is Auto-Balancing, but it leads into match caps. The fact is, there are certain maps on the server right now that are very one sided and this makes the playing experience weak at times. Examples are limited but include maps such as: Aztec, Italy, Nuke, and Office. I know there is some disagreement on this but that is neither here nor there. There are some clear advantages in a map like Italy for the terrorists and although this is part of the game, the problem lies in the fact that the CT's are being put in a VERY tough situation regardless of skill level, so unless there is proper balancing, the game's are going to be very one sided (which honestly is no fun, stats or not).

This brings me to my next point. When i first started on the Toronto darkly server, it had 24 spots. And although now I have a far easier time getting into the server, unless the map rotation changes to accomodate the bigger maps, youre always going to be running into these problems. If there were less people on Italy for example, it would be far easier for the CT's to win and the same goes with some of the other maps I mentioned. Otherwise, you should stick to a rotation of the larger, not so one sided maps, to increase the playing experience. Or find a way to autobalance properly so that the more one sided player sides have a chance to win in the tougher maps.

I don't know much about CS:GO or CS at all for that matter.
But, when it comes to the auto-balance, I do think that the Admins are only limited to the ability of the plugins that are currently available.
I'm not sure that there has been a perfected auto balance released yet, otherwise I'm sure SJ would have scoped it out and added it by now.

Hey all,

Just to add to what Dyne said (even though he took the liberty of speaking for me)...some sort of auto-team balancing would be a very welcome addition. I have no idea what is involved in this and like Zackychuu said there may just not be a good plugin yet, but more often then not the rounds are very one sided. But I do have to say that there are some of the more skilled players on this server that are very good at switching teams when its very one sided, and it does make a difference, so thank you to them for that.

+1 for auto-balance. I play on a server then TD| is full that has a good auto-balance. If I can remember what one I'll ask what they use.

+0 for cap reduction. While it would make matches easier, it would cause problems with people getting on the server. Already the server is overcrowded. If the cap is reduced to 24 again another server would be necessary, regardless of the argument that they will both be half full. TD| could fill a 60-slot server and we all know it, but that would be no fun at all. Haha.

a cap would be very bad idea. i know i have sat for 30+ minutes waiting to get on to play with some of the regulars and td members. One thing that would bug me is seeing people on the server for hours with 0 kills an entire map. i dont know if they were afk or just that bad but i know it annoyed me haha.
