Yeah the 5850 has had some problems that are known of but none the less its still a nice card. Have you tried any of the following:

1.) re-installing drivers?
2.) Full disconnection of the Card in your tower then re-connecting it?

A Friend of mine has the same card and he says sometimes the drivers like to mess up for no reason. Once he had to remove the card then put it back in for some reason so that is why I put the second suggestion though not sure how truly effective it might be.

yeah, nvidia next time :D was always nvidia fanboy, but the 5850 was quite a fast card at the time. ill try finding newer drivers and installing that.

ive been doing the noob update of drivers, i never uninstall old ones. derp derp

how i remove ALL old gpu drivers before i install fresh ?

or can use a driver sweeper or just manually delete the relevant registry entries then restart and reinstall.

Yup, get driver sweeper, if you can find it... all DL links have been removed as it's no longer 'supported'... I have it though, so if you can't find it, I'll upload it to mediafire or something...

is there a legit way of doing it (thru windows) ? all those driver wipers are a good way to brick your pc and have to format.

They are absolutely not. Driversweeper finds all the shit (either nvidia or ati, you choose), it displays what it wants to remove, and you choose what to delete/keep (it's straight forward), and presto. Gone.

Have you tried
1) re-installing the drivers
2) ajust your resolution
3) have proper leveling of both screens in the sence of visual data( video pictures do they all line up from one screen to the other)
4) dead vga card?
