How good do you think they can be?
Thier starting rotation next year will be Marcum, Mcgowan, Romero, Richmond, Litsch.
Hopefully Marcum and Mcgowan return to form after their respective surgeries and a missed year. Romero and Richmond are both young and did well last year, they should be better this year.
The starting rotation should be deadly (If Halladay doesn't get traded it will be even more potent).

Batting: Lind and Hill are both young and both had breakout years last year, they will be dynamite this year. Hopefully Wells finds his game again. The rest of the Jays need to learn to take some walks and get on base more for the power hitters.

The bullpen is deadly still.

I am really excited for this season, 4 young guys had breakout seasons last year (Hill, Lind, Romero, Richmond) and they are going to be better this year.
Hopefully the other pieces fall into place. Barring another season of significant injuries and if Halladay doesn't get traded, the Jays could shoot for 90 wins this year.

Hey 3 years ago they finished 2nd in the division. Given they are getting raped financially and can't get any players, but hopefully they start doing good so they don't fold. I can't live without the bluejays.

hahaha. No but actually they are playing like a team now. Kessel is king. They are actually a very good team on the ice now. They will be in contention for a spot until the end.

without halladay their done... 20 games down the tube

I am not sure who will finish last in the AL East this year. Tampa should be worse, Baltimore could be a little better & the Jays should be not better than last year.. I guess the Jays are the leading candidate to be the worst in the division.
On the bright side, scalping tickets should be cheaper. lol. If Wells can hit .270 ish and Snider becomes more productive the team may not be as bad as they appear to be right now.
Also, if the Jays are willing to toss cash into a trade/deal. I can't see how the Jays won't spend in the top 1/3 of the league in 2-3 years if they are in the bottom 1/3 in the meantime before a point where they feel they can contend. The Hill and Lind contracts are fantastical so at least they are starting to build with a solid base of players.
If AL East teams are to get some relief from the torrid competition. The best way baseball can make it a fairer league would be to go back to 2 divisions. 2 Division winners head to the playoffs along with 2 wild cards. That allows for 3 playoffs to be available to ever team in the AL, as opposed to 2. No more s#it a$$ dog teams from the Central getting blasted in 3 or 4 straight by the Yankees, Red Sox & Angels.
