    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Yeah, I'm not going to try to argue 1000Hz over 500Hz. I question the usefulness of 1000Hz myself. However, I do think that I see the difference between the two when I pan with my mouse around as smoothly as I can. 1000Hz seems to be less jerky when I'm doing this (in an ideal scenario when it's...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Okay, good to know. I guess I'll see how I do with USB 2.0. I wish that I could objectively measure average polling rate between 1.1 and 2.0 in game, as going on feel isn't going to be as convincing to other people reading this thread who are dealing with similar issues.

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Yeah, raw input definitely feels better overall. I'm assuming that this is because the Windows step is eliminated - reduced workload for the CPU and more accurate translation of mouse polling? I honestly don't have a firm understanding of how mouse polling works. I suspect what's happening...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

I promised I'd be back, so here are some pics of LatencyMon with everything (seemingly) sorted out: In order to reduce the hard pagefaults I was getting before, I ended up having to replace Windows Defender. Avira seems to be working really well for me so far. I also replaced my SteelSeries...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

YEP. I'm very thankful that this is the only real issue I've had to deal with. I wonder how long I'm going to get away with being on the X58 chipset... @OG buckshot jr @up-n-atom @Sushicutter @Thanatos thanks for your help guys!!!

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Just a quick update. Long story short - the PCIe to USB card arrived at my place today. I installed it, updated the drivers from the website, and disabled the USB controllers on my motherboard. I can now confirm that this is one way to resolve the usbport.sys issue (or it's a good work around...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Good idea, but it had no effect on usbport.sys. EDIT: Just so everyone is on the same page, I'm going to leave bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes just like that for now, and I've also enabled HPET in BIOS again, but this time in 64-bit. I've been reading that HPET is only used when needed for...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

I actually don't have a spare drive, to be honest. Otherwise, this is definitely something that I would do. Regarding the IRQs, I basically just moved my USB devices around so that they don't conflict with anything else. It turns out, for example, that one of my USB controllers shares a line...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

My bad. Yeah, I'm going to get one ASAP. I'll report back when I've tried it.

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

I mean, I guess I could try reverting the BIOS to F12 from F13, but that might cause other problems. Gigabyte dropped support for my board long ago. I'm not even sure how I'm running Windows 10 at all, and with only one driver related issue, too! I even have all of my USB devices on separate...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Possible work around - purchase a PCIe internal USB 3.0 card and completely disable USB 2.0 on my motherboard. But what drivers would I use for the card? Not sure if this would work.

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

No worries, man. I'm very busy myself, as I'm supposed to be studying for finals and finishing up an assignment. I think a lot of people could stand to benefit from this thread if someone here comes up with a solution. I honestly don't care if it's me who comes up with the solution or someone...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

I've been posting on Windows Ten Forums, if anyone wants to follow along. Haven't really gotten anywhere, though (I come in on page 4): http://www.tenforums.com/performance-maintenance/45544-problem-compressed-memory-process-4.html

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

If you're anything like me, you'll obsess over any problem you come across to the detriment of everything else around you. I wouldn't recommend it, lol. Here are two screen captures taken after 1 minute of running LatencyMon. This is idle, keeping my mouse completely still: This is a second...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

First of all - thanks for your help. If you have any ideas, please share them. I really appreciate it. In the OP, I probably should have listed everything that I've already tried, but there are TONS of things that I've already tried. It's getting pretty ridiculous, actually. I've previously...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

I haven't played TF2 in years, to be honest. CSGO seems to be particularly susceptible to performance issues because it's so reliant on CPU resources. And because CSGO is CPU limited, it also benefits greatly from CPU overclocking. However, if your system isn't in good health, it's going to...

NEWS TD is Dead, Long Live TD

The server actually seems to be gaining some traction. I saw people in the server tonight that I hadn't seen in over a year. I think we're probably going to have to tolerate playing on a very small selection of maps until the server gets a bit more popular, though. It really bothers me how...

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Yeah, I was dealing with the heavy mouse feeling in TD all night tonight. I wish I knew what to do to fix this. It's bothering me so much. Sometimes it's not that bad, though. :feelsbad:

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

No, I don't have Setpoint installed. And yes, I've experimented with both 500 Hz and 1000 Hz. CPU usage is slightly lower with 500 Hz, but it doesn't feel as smooth in game (although that smoothness is very inconsistent).

    [Solved] usbport.sys dpc latency issues

Yeah, AHCI wasn't on by default. Regarding Hyper-Threading, I had it enabled until as recently as last week. I turned it off because I heard that it was bad in combination with HPET disabled, although I had been running Hyper-Threading enabled and HPET disabled for a while with no issues. And...
